Graham Taylor
David Franklin
Hartshill started brightly, with good possession utilising well rehearsed patterns of play. Resulting in them being the better side for for the first 15 minutes or so. Despite the good start and several good saves from the Notts keeper and near misses Hartshill failed to take advantage of this and turn it into a well deserved slender lead.
Notts to their credit during this first period of the game also created a couple of chances despite Roger & Paul’s fantastic performances as a whole to try to keep Notts at bay.
As Notts settled into there game and there possession increased they began to get a grip of the game culminating in them opening the scoring with a well worked move and finish.
Once in front Notts showed there experience in this format of the game by keeping the ball well and creating more chances whilst nullifying Hartshills occasional threat on there goal. Another well constructed move and finish led to then doubling there lead.
HT 2-0
As with all good sides once in front Notts never looked like losing. Hartshill huffed and puffed chasing ( literally) a goal, resulting in a late blue card ! Honours even second half score wise but in truth the better side on the day ran out worthy winners.
FT 2-0
Great achievement from Hartshill to reach a regional final despite the decimation of the squad from last year.
Well done boys, here’s to a successful season ahead hopefully.
